Quick and Easy Portraits with Tommy Fletcher: Demonstration using Payne's Grey or Burnt Sienna

Local artist Tommy Fletcher has created large scale murals across the region, working for clients including Paducah Glow-Golf, Paducah Energy Fitness, Paducah Cardinal Lanes. He has created hundreds of commissioned portraits of people and pets.
Fletcher works in oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, colored pencil, and airbrush. He retired from his position at Heath High School as a chemistry teacher and coach to pursue his passion for art and creating portraits full time.

Rivertown Reading Series

Travis Mossotti was awarded the 2011 May Swenson Poetry Award by contest judge Garrison Keillor for his first collection, About the Dead. In 2009, he was awarded the James Hearst Poetry Prize from the North American Review by ocntest judge Robert Pinsky, and in 2010 his poem "Decampment" was adapted to screen as an animated short film. Mossotti's poem, "Crossing the Gap" was recently featured on NPR's "The Writer's Almanac", and the broadcast is available for free at the show's official website. He currently resides in St. Louis with his wife Regina and daughter Cora.
River's Edge Film Festival

The River's Edge International Film Festival brings independent film to the smart, arts-oriented, mid-American river town of Paducah, Kentucky. Celebrating it's 7th year, the River's Edge International Film Festival ia a four day event built around the showing of quality independent film from around the world. Our focus is both on the film lover, providing multiple venues in which to experience the best the world of cinema has to offer, and on the film maker, offering opportunities for exhibition, education, and networking with contemporaries.

Carrie Jerrell's debut collection After the Revival won the 2008 Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize from Waywiser Press. Her work has apeared in publications including IMAGE, Measure, The Yalobusha Review, Subtropics, From the Fishouse, and Verse Daily. She earned her M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and her PhD from Texas Tech University. She is an assistant professor of English at Murray State University, where she also serves as the Associate Director of the low-residency MFA program in creative writing.
